CanadaGAP:
provides national food safety standards and a certification system for fresh produce suppliers
is a user-friendly, “Made in Canada” on-farm food safety program
helps producers and packers demonstrate food safety vigilance on the farm
is the first Canadian food safety program to achieve international recognition by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
allows fruit and vegetable producers to remain competitive in the international marketplace
is HACCP-based and founded on a preventive approach. The farmer implements the requirements and follows procedures to minimize known food safety hazards. The program is built on farmers taking science-based, preventive measures to reduce the risk of contamination
