A reminder to all CanadaGAP program participants and other stakeholders to continue to consult the dedicated webpage at https://www.canadagap.ca/covid-19/
There you will find the latest information on how COVID-19 may affect CanadaGAP audits and certified operations this season, including expectations for audits, handling of certificate extensions, etc.
The webpage is also being updated regularly with new information to help answer your questions about the impact of the coronavirus on your food safety program. We are adding new links and resources as more information becomes available, such as:
- Factsheets and printable resources to help operations
- Links to information on how to support a safe work environment
- New public health recommendations specific to businesses in the agriculture and agri-food sector (link through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada)
- How COVID-19 is spread – it is not transmissible through food or food packaging materials
Questions about upcoming audit scheduling should still be directed to your certification body. Note that certification bodies are carrying out audits wherever possible. If an audit cannot proceed, the certification body will contact the affected operation directly regarding certificate extension and rescheduling of the audit.
Please direct any further concerns to info@canadagap.ca. As things keep evolving, CanadaGAP will continue to keep you updated on our website: www.canadagap.ca. Please check regularly for the most recent information.
