The CanadaGAP® Program is pleased to announce that a licensing agreement has been signed and plans are underway for a new Certification Body, Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety, Inc. (PJRFSI), to offer CanadaGAP audit and certification services.

Paul Damaren, Senior Vice President of Food Safety & Supply Chain, PJRFSI states: “We are excited to build on our food certification audit heritage and expand our capabilities with the CanadaGAP certification program and view this as a natural fit with one of our core values: protecting consumers.”

Third-party Certification Bodies are licensed by CanadaGAP to provide audit and certification services for fresh fruit and vegetable operations who are enrolled in the program. Program participants must comply with food safety standards outlined by CanadaGAP and undergo and successfully complete on-site audits by their selected Certification Body to obtain and maintain CanadaGAP certification.

Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety Inc. has a demonstrated history of providing value-added food safety certifications to clients, with a track record of rigour and consistency throughout the certification audit process. “Adding CanadaGAP to our services of agriculture food safety audits and standards aligns with our strong commitment to offering the best food safety solutions and certificate programs from farm to fork”, said Lauren Maloney, Food Safety Program Accreditation Manager, PJRFSI.

For CanadaGAP clients interested in having their audits and certification completed by PJRFSI, more information will be published jointly by CanadaGAP and PJRFSI as soon as CanadaGAP audit and certification services are available from the new Certification Body. Please note that PJRFSI services will not be offered in Quebec.  For more information on PJRFSI, visit their website at https://www.pjrfsi.com/

Over the coming months, Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety, Inc. (PJRFSI) will join two currently licensed Certification Bodies, NSF Canada Agricultural Certification Company (NSF Canada Ag) and Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ), in offering CanadaGAP audits and certification.
