CanadaGAP wishes to inform program participants of a change to the service standard for certification bodies to issue audit reports after an audit is completed.
Previously, certification bodies had 20 business days to send audit reports. That timeframe was too short for certification bodies to complete all the steps involved. Effective immediately, the turnaround time for certification bodies to issue audit reports is 30 business days, regardless of whether the program participant has passed or failed the audit.
The new 30-day service standard will allow the certification body enough time to complete the following activities:
- Ten days for the auditor to prepare the audit report and submit it to the certification body.
- Ten days for the technical reviewer at the certification body to review the audit report and make a decision on certification.
- Ten days for administrative staff at the certification body to finalize the audit report, prepare the certificate (if applicable) and send the documents to the program participant.
