Sheri Nielson Auditor Recognition Award Ceremony & Stakeholder Lunch
Prior to the AGM, CanadaGAP hosted a stakeholder lunch, followed by the award ceremony for the winner of the 2025 Sheri Nielson Auditor Recognition Award. The award ceremony was open to anyone who wished to attend, in-person or virtually, and we appreciate all those who took part in congratulating the recipient. The 2025 award was presented to a highly deserving CanadaGAP auditor:
Cameron Korpan
Cameron exhibits the care, dedication and heart for which Sheri Nielson was known. He has served the food industry for some time and has been an outstanding auditor for the CanadaGAP Program since 2014. We extend warm congratulations to Cameron and a sincere thank you all those who submitted nominations!
The award was presented by a previous recipient of this award – Danni Kneeland, of Calgary, Alberta, who was recognized in 2024 for her excellence as a CanadaGAP auditor. Danni was on hand to congratulate Cameron and share her fond remembrances of Sheri Nielson, the auditor in whose memory CanadaGAP established the award in 2022. It was heartening to see highly regarded auditors from across the country connect in person to share their appreciation for each other and for the commitment and professionalism that all CanadaGAP auditors bring to the job.
A new webpage on the CanadaGAP website is dedicated to the CanadaGAP Auditor Recognition Award and can be accessed here: www.canadagap.ca/events/auditor-award/. The page contains information on the decision to honour Sheri Nielson’s legacy, the award ceremony, past winners, and a link to submit a nomination. We encourage anyone who has had a great experience with a CanadaGAP auditor to share their story. Nominations are welcome at all times.
Annual General Meeting
The AGM of CanAgPlus, the not-for-profit corporation that owns and operates the CanadaGAP® Program, was the keystone event of the day and began at 2:30 p.m. MST at the Westin Calgary. Virtual participation was also an option for members unable to attend in person.
